Do you have a tooth that sticks out and look awkward? If it’s in your ‘smile line’ i.e the teeth which are visible at the front of your mouth, then it may be causing you embarrassment. You may have thought that wearing braces for years is the only way of treating this. But now there is a way to straighten your teeth quickly and effectively by using the Inman Aligner. This removable appliance is designed to give fast and effective movement of teeth.
At Red Sky at The Fountain Health Clinic we offer the Inman Aligner to suitable candidates. The Inman Aligner is an orthodontic appliance which can help to fix crooked, crowded or oddly spaced teeth. Upon making a consultation with the practice, Dr Pavandeep Khaira will assess your teeth and see if you are a suitable candidate for this procedure. If it’s determined that the Inman Aligner can help to improve your smile, you will be fitted for the appliance.
How does it work?
The device uses a lingual coil spring which puts pressure on the teeth and repositions it using a labial bar that reverses the same pressure. The Inman Aligner is a suitable and quick way of allowing candidates to straighten their top and bottom front teeth.
By wearing the Inman Aligner for around 20-22 hours a day for around 3-4 months, you will see a huge difference in the shape of your smile. During treatment you will have to come back into the dental practice every 2-3 weeks to check on your progress.
The good news is there isn’t much you have to avoid with the Inman Aligner. Speaking can sometimes be a little bit difficult as the device can be quite bulky inside the mouth. However you can go about your everyday activities as normal and as it’s removable, you can eat, drink and brush your teeth as usual.
The concept behind the Inman Aligner is a relatively new one in the UK, but in the US patients have been treated with the device since 2000 and on average, around 450 to 500 new patients are prescribed the Inman Aligner in the United States every month. So it is well trusted to deliver fantastic results. The good news is that since it’s a gentle appliance, complications are practically unheard of.
You will achieve a fantastic straight smile from using the Inman Aligner if you’re suited to this treatment. Some of my patients have achieved jaw dropping results! However patients should bear in mind that there’s a big difference between full braces and alignment which is that the Inman Aligner is not suitable for more complex tooth movements. The results are permanent when worn with a retainer, which must be worn for life, which is true of all brace work.
