One-visit Porcelain Dental Crowns
Porcelain crowns are an excellent restorative option for fixing a wide range of dental problems. They are durable with a natural look and feel. We often use porcelain dental crowns at our practice for patients from Doncaster, South Yorkshire, and Sheffield when we need to add stability to a damaged tooth, or to conceal chips, cracks, stains, and other imperfections.
In the past, one drawback to porcelain crowns has been that they required two office visits — one to prepare the tooth and one to place the crown — with a wait of several weeks in between while the crown was made by a dental laboratory.
However, at Red Sky Dental Spa, we are now able to do it all in just one visit. We are proud to offer our patients custom-made, one-visit porcelain crowns with the CEREC® system.
We start by preparing the tooth, and then use the CEREC® system’s camera and three-dimensional imaging software to make a digital image of the area. The CEREC® machine uses this image to mill the crown from a piece of high-quality porcelain. There is just a short wait while you relax in one of our treatment chairs, and your crown is ready to be cemented in place.
CEREC® porcelain crowns are custom-made to exact specifications, so they precisely fit the prepared tooth. A better fit means a better look and feel. And, in most cases, it is nearly impossible to distinguish a natural tooth from one with a CEREC® crown.
