Looking after dental implants – What you need to know

April 11, 2013

Dental implants are an incredible way to replace missing teeth.  In fact, they are currently the best method of replacement we have for your natural teeth.  Dental implants do minimal damage to adjacent teeth, restore function and can look incredibly natural.

Once your implant is fitted and functioning, it is incredibly important to make sure your implants are well looked after and maintained.  Consider them your third set of teeth, it’s incredibly difficult to give you a fourth!

It is possible to get complications around implants although it doesn’t happen often.  What is great news is that by keeping them clean and visiting our hygienist regularly, the risk of complications drops significantly.

Our aim, as well as restoring your missing tooth, is to give you the skills to be able to look after your implants so they last as long as possible.  Dental implants are one of the most successful types of restorations we can do for you
