Is the Powerprox Six Month Braces® technique more dangerous than regular braces? Do they hurt more?
The honest answer to both of these questions is no. There is a common misunderstanding that in order to move teeth fast we have to apply high forces to your teeth. This is incorrect, if you remember we earlier told you that we apply GENTLE forces to your teeth. Many people are scared of a phenomenon known as "root resorption", this tends to happen when high forces are applied to teeth for an extended period of time. Since we are only using light forces for a short time the risk of this is virtually eliminated.
