I recently was asked why I do general dentistry the way I do. For those of you who have been out to see me will completely understand this question!
The answer is really simple; modern dentistry is so far removed from the normal stereotype of dentistry that is almost laughable. And I want to prove it! A large amount of anxiety associated with dental treatment is related to being rushed in the treatment room. This means everything must run perfectly, since when do we live in that world?!
Excellence in dentistry is related to science based clinical procedures and not cutting corners with any procedure. This takes time. This is exactly what we book to ensure everything goes as well as possible.
The most frequent question I get asked at the end of an appointment is “Is that it?!”
And this is exactly how it should be!

I often get asked what can be done to produce more comfortable, more stable and more natural looking dentures. The answer is, quite a lot!
There are many factors which influence fit, function and cosmetics of dentures. We are proud to be able to offer you BPS and Gerber dentures. Both of these types of dentures have a very specific construction technique, and can make vast improvements on fit of dentures.
Whether you want white and straight teeth setting up on our denture or a more natural looking set up, we can arrange that for you. Some even requests fillings in the back teeth for an even more natural appearance, all of which can be done for you!
Dentures are designed to last 5-6 years before they need replacing. After this time, the denture base will no longer fit to your gums, even though the dentures themselves may be comfortable, they will be like a very old pair of shoes; comfortable but not doing you any good!

I also aim to keep myself trained to an exceptional level. We very frequently see patients who have done some dental tourism and had work done cheaper abroad.
May I say that I have many friends who are dentists abroad, and they provide world class dentistry. I would happily see these people myself, but they are no cheaper than a quality dentist from the UK.
I see some dentistry which is of decent quality but my main concern is when there has been a lot of dentistry done to a less than satisfactory standard. It takes a huge amount of planning, effort and expense to correct some of the major problems I am more and more frequently seeing. More and more of my time is spent correcting cosmetic dentistry which has gone wrong
Many of the materials we use in the UK, but not all, are available abroad, and the costs are not much less. It gravely concerns me when dentistry is available extremely cheap, as it is invariably these patients who suffer greatly with continued problems.
I am not here to stop anyone from going abroad to have work done. I simply ask you research very well and know that quality comes with a price, no matter where you are on the planet

Gum disease is a very serious infection. There is an increasing link between gum disease and systemic diseases. The process often has very few symptoms until the final stages of the disease. The more common warning signs are bleeding gums, bad breath and loose teeth.
Bacteria, which are found in your plaque and tartar, release toxins which damage the bone which holds your teeth securely in place. It is this damage and subsequent destruction of bone which causes teeth to loosen. You can find more information on our video site
When treated early, the amount of destruction can often be limited. We also offer laser assisted gum therapy. We are having outstanding success with this advanced treatment, and are now able to keep teeth for much longer which previously would have probably been lost due to the disease.

I am excited to share this news with you all. After the extensive refurbishment, we will be holding an open day in the new year. This will give an opportunity for anyone interested in quality and cosmetic dentistry a chance to view the Spa and see what we do.
We will be able to discuss numerous different treatment options, including Six Month Smiles and the Inman aligner.
